I have been sick a few times and I needed to go to the emergency room to be seen by the Doctor. I was seen in a timely manner. The staff are very friendly, as well as informed on all the newest medical procedures. A nice place when needed.
I have no problem paying for my trip to the ER when I get cared for there, but having to pay to get yelled at by a rude doctor? I can't even begin to say how disgusted I am with this hospital and I would never go there again.
The staff is under trained. Avoid if possible.
I live in Ephrata and we have an absolutely wonderful small town, but I am so disappointed to call Columbia Basin our hospital. I had red sores break out all over my body and I went in to the Emergency Room at about 2am when I didn't think they would be busy. There were no other people waiting, it was completely quiet and they got me into a room right away. Then I sat in the room for about 2 hours, and when the doctor finally came in, he was EXTREMELY rude. (It actually reduced me down to tears when I left because I was so overwhelmed at how I was treated.) This man came in, didn't even check out my sores at all. He looked at me and scolded me for coming into the ER when I wasn't clearly dying. I told him that I was scared because I had no idea what these red spots were and I wanted to make sure I didn't have an outbreak of something, and I purposefully waited to come in at a non-busy time so that I wouldn't take time away from other patients. He did not tell me what I had or how to fix it, let alone prescribe me any medicine. He did absolutely nothing except walk in the room and talk to me harshly and ask me how dare I come into the Emergency Room. I just couldn't believe it.
I filed a complaint with the hospital, and after 45 days they finally let me know that the "care" I received was sufficient. Then they sent me a bill for over $450...and on top of that, they added a Finance Charge for the 45 days that they were looking into my complaint! Completely ridiculous!
The room we stayed in was small, overcrowded, and under-equipped, they lack some pretty basic drugs (hydromorphone and budesonide), and the accommodations for family to stay overnight are these awful "stroke" chairs that could have come out of some medieval torture device catalogue. The staff are nice but severely handicapped by the limitations of your typical underfunded community hospital.
I was filling pretty ill when I entered the emergency room of Columbia basin Hospital. The Girls working there at the time i entered(05/05/2017 13:42) got me in and focused on medical issue. They took care of the problem in a professional matter. The only negative deal was me filling ill. I would recommend to everyone i know around here.
